A recap on the three reasons for challenging behaviour;
How the third reason - feelings - affects our child’s behaviour (and our own);
The two main causes of painful feelings;
The avenues for feelings;
Expression (eg. Tears, tantrums, sweating);
Suppression (eg. Distraction, eating, movement);
Aggression (eg. Throwing, pushing, hitting);
Accumulation (eg. Agitation, Distractibility, Sleep challenges);
Percentages of expression, suppression, aggression and accumulation;
How we can increase expression and reduce suppression, aggression or accumulation;
What we can do If they are already crying or raging;
What we can do if our child is in suppression or aggression rather than expression;

I am the mother of a daughter born in 2002 and a son born in 2006, and I have learnt so much from being their mother.
I also have a more than 30 year background in developmental psychology, psychospiritual psychotherapy and conscious parenting.
I have a Ph.D. on postnatal depression and the mother-infant relationship from Cambridge University and was a Post-Doctoral Fellow at Exeter University, studying the capacities of babies.
I also trained and worked as a Psychosynthesis Psychotherapist, and a HypnoBirthing and Calm birth practitioner, as well as several other methodologies.
I came across Aware Parenting when I was pregnant with my daughter in 2001 and it resonated with all that I had learnt in my academic and therapeutic research, training and experience, and it had this extra piece of information that I’d never come across before - the fact that babies and children can heal from stress and trauma from birth onwards.
I’ve been an Aware Parenting Instructor since 2005 and am also a Level Two Aware Parenting Instructor.
After years of one to one sessions and in-person workshops, I started creating online courses in 2014, and have made many Aware Parenting offerings.
I am still as passionate about Aware Parenting as I was in 2001.
I see the power if has to not only transform the parent-child relationship, but also to deeply support a child’s long-term emotional wellbeing as well as their day to day emotional state and behaviour.
I am incredibly grateful to Aletha Solter, Ph.D., founder of The Aware Parenting Institute for creating this life-changing and world-changing work.
in ways that really make a difference to your parenting!
